Upgrade Your Mindset from Ordinary to Extraordinary

The Importance of Attitude and Effort in Mastering Your Mindset

As coaches, we understand the importance of training in the "X's and O's" of fitness, but we also know that there's more to the equation than that. Building and maintaining a strong mindset is a critical part of success both in life and in training.

Let's be real, we all face challenges from time to time. We experience the same emotions and ups and downs that are part of the human experience. It only takes one negative event to alter your mindset and change your entire day, week, or even life. Unfortunately, we can't always control what life throws our way, but we can control our reactions to it.

The good news is that there are two things we have 100% control over, and that's our attitude and effort. Instead of wasting time and energy focusing on things that are outside of our control, we should focus on what we can control.

We can't control the behavior, decisions, and reactions of others or the unexpected events of life. Trying to control the uncontrollables is a waste of mental, emotional, and physical currency. However, we absolutely can impact, influence, and inspire people and events by focusing on our own efforts and attitudes.

What sets an elite mindset apart from an average one is the ability to focus on one's own efforts and attitudes. By focusing on what we can control, we can ultimately become happier.

It's time to start taking action instead of just talking about it. Act with purpose and live in the present moment. Stop blaming others for things not going well, holding a grudge, or spending time with negative people. Continue to be respectful, hold yourself to high standards, and expect the best out of every situation instead of the worst.

What will you start doing, stop doing, and continue to do to improve your attitude and efforts? We encourage you to take the necessary steps to improve your mindset, not just in training, but in all aspects of your life.
